August 2019
Geralis Soto, University of Central Florida, Graduated Spring 2019
Major: Health Service Administration with a Minor in Aging Studies and Health Information
Management
Career Goals: I want to work in pediatric environment in the human resources department.
Biggest surprise about the college experience: My major! I didn’t think I would ever get into a major
where I am constantly talking to people, leading teams, solving problems, and being part of an
administrative team, but I’ve loved every second of my experience so far.
Accomplishment most proud of: My biggest accomplishment is getting hired through my internship. I’ve
loved the place I interned at, so the prospect of getting to work there soon makes me very happy.
Can you provide any advice to our current Knights? I cannot stress how important it is to study
something you can genuinely see yourself doing for the rest of your life. Hobbies don’t always translate
to the best profession. Take into consideration all aspects of who you are, what you’re good at and what
you like, before making such an important decision. Also, making friends is hard in college! Remember
that these aren’t people you are seeing every day. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to make
lasting friendships.
I paid for college with…: Bright Futures, Pegasus Scholarship, and out of pocket when needed.
Fondest memory from high school: Helping to start up the Key Club. All my English classes will remain
fond memories. I met my boyfriend at JMMA, and we’re still together five years later. I also have very
good friends that I met there that I love. Special shout out to one of my favorite teachers - Mr. Cruz!
Thanks for patiently waiting for me to visit over the past few years. It’ll happen eventually (probably)!
High School Graduation Date: June 1, 2015 – The Founding Class of Jose Marti MAST 6-12 Academy
